‘The Duchesses’

Naomi J

Naomi Jansen

My name is Naomi Jansen. I’ve been doing poledance for about three years now. I started poledance back home when I lived with my parents at Elisa-Jo studio’s, and when I moved to Groningen last year I started at The Noordpole. I’m in intermediate 2 now. I soon felt like I wanted to do more for the association. I first did the Democie, but this year I decided that I wanted more and I applied for the board.

I’m very excited for this board year. We’re gonna try our best to make this an amazing poledance year, and we hope you’re just as excited as we are!

Johanna Pyykkö

My name is Johanna and I originate from Helsinki, Finland. I have lived in Groningen for 4 years now, first I studying psychology and now doing a research master in Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology. I found pole dance a year ago, which puts me in the intermediate level now. Pole dancing became rapidly a dearly-loved hobby (obsession) and a breathing-hole for me. Approximately a month after joining our association last year, I joined our activity committee, De AcCie, and so it felt natural to join our board this year. I am very excited for the adventures the board year can provide me!

Emma van Nieuwkuijk

Hi all, my name is Emma van Nieuwkuijk, I am 21 years old. I am currently studying Liberal Arts and Science, or University college, as it is also called. I joined the association last year, together with Naomi who is now technical coordinator. I started as a complete beginner with no prior experience in gymnastics or dancing, but only a few weeks after I started, I fell in love with the sport. I had always played soccer, but the thing I liked most about pole dancing is that you learn very quickly and see improvement of your skills within a few weeks. This is also why I decided to join the board of G.S.P.V. de Noordpole, to improve my skills outside the sport, and to become more active within our association. This year I will be training in the intermediate I group, together with some other members of the board, and I am looking forward to seeing you around!

Charissa Moorrees
commissioner of internal affairs

My name is Charissa Morrees, I am in my third year of religious studies at the RUG, my hobbies are working as a make up artist, photography and writing. I am proud to be your Commissioner of Internal affairs this year. As the commissioner of Internal affairs my focus is on our committees and promoting our association more by making use of our Instagram account.

I joined this amazing association last year and this year I will be in the Intermediate I group. Before poledance I did streetdance and jazzballet for a while. Although my favorite poledance move is “de Ballerina” I have to be honest; I actually love choreographies and floorwork the most because I get to include all sorts of polemoves and dance. Just adore poledance.

Naomi A

Naomi Arnaud
technical coordinator

Hello! My name is Naomi Arnaud and I am part of the Board for this year as the Technical Coordinator. Who am I? Well, I am technically German and French but I was born and raised in Asia so my home is back in Vietnam. Moving here as an international student that has never lived in Europe was super rough but when I discovered pole dancing, it definitely made it much easier and much more exciting. I’ve only been pole dancing for a year, putting me in Intermediate I this year and I’ve loved every second of it. I really hope you enjoy what this association has to offer this year and hope to meet some of you at our next event!
